Our Story
The Old Garage began with a question: How do we create the best tasting pizza?
The answer was in old European traditions that have lost in North American – wood fire. While most pizza chains and stores use simpler methods to bake their pizza we adopted the wood fired oven approach because it maintains our oven over 625° F. At this temperature pizza cook in less than 5 minutes! But the wood fire itself is only part of the equation – the other part is the stone the pizzas are cooked on. With every new pizza the stone gathers more flavor. This evenly cooks the pizza dough and given it a special addition and unique flair.
Given this we opened the Old Garage in Walkerton, taking the name from the original usage of the building in which we are located. The name took and that’s what the town as come to know today. At the heart of our business is a simple principle – make the best pizza with fresh, often locally sourced, ingredients and let the pies speak for themselves. This is what separates us from others and it is what you will love in every bite.

LUNCHHungry for something good and quick at lunchtime? The Old Garage sells large slices to satisfy your hunger! Our same wood fired pizza sold in individual slices. These are available in Pepperoni and many of our popular favourites from 11am to 2pm. We also offer 1 dollar off personal sized pizzas.
GLUTEN FREE CRUSTOur Gluten Free Crust pizzas are cooked with the same care but on a separate pan as all our products and are cut in their own area with a dedicated cutter and board. Available in 12”.
CAULIFLOWER CRUSTGluten Free comes with options! All our pizzas are available on a 10”cauliflower crust. While these are not carb free there are a lower carb option. Cauliflower crust pizzas have quickly become a customer favourite!
SCOOP SHOPYou screamed for Ice Cream and we listened! From Victoria Day to Thanksgiving we scoop your local favourite – Chapman’s. Also available are floats and banana splits. Come and indulge your sweet tooth with the family on our outdoor patio or walk the River trail. Open from Victoria Day weekend to September.
